Parker & Matt
May 24, 2008

Soon after Parker Phelps and Matt Stall first met, they knew they were meant for each other! After Parker took Matt to meet her grandmother Mary, and Matt passed the “Grandmary” test, they knew it was all but official. In December of 2006, Matt proposed to Parker in Grandmary’s attic, a special place where all family members have been decorating and writing on the wall for fifty years. Matt had written “Parker will you marry me?”, and when Parker went to the attic for Christmas decorations, Matt was there waiting, and she answered an emphatic YES!

Both the wedding ceremony and a cocktail hour were held outdoors at the romantic Hudson Manor. The couple’s siblings were part of the ceremony, and the flower girls were from Parker’s family. The indoor reception featured lively entertainment, including Matt and Parker’s song, “Warm Love” by Van Morrison, for the couple’s first dance.

Guests were treated to a candy table that included saltwater taffy, wedding almonds, and melt-away mints, and signed a North Carolina picture book rather than a traditional guest register. Matt and Parker departed in a 1950 White Bentley, and spent a happy 10-day honeymoon in Saint Lucia.
